If you plan on surfing, scuba diving, etc on your vacation, make sure you have the proper type of travel insurance. Some travel insurance carriers consider activities like this as extreme sports, which require special Adventure Travel insurance. The premiums are higher, as the risk of injury/accident are higher, but you will not be covered otherwise. Read your travel insurance policy and understand what exactly it does and does not cover.
